Americans need mood lighting too, right?
Does anyone else use Google Chrome and have to deal with it constantly signing you out of every single website that you use daily? Just me?
See you at the bottom of the page ✌️
Bizness updates
This month, I officially made my lamps available to buy in the US. I’d set this up mentally as a huge milestone many months ago, and there was something eerie about updating the inventory on my Shopify site and the website suddenly being…live. There was no fanfare, no ribbon cutting.
If I’m honest, it all felt a little anti-climactic?
As excited as I am to have hit that milestone, and to have sold my first few lamps on the site, I can’t help but feel like the work is only just beginning, again. Unfortunately, there’s no easy workflow that allows me to make a ton of ceramics, and then sit back and expect people to come to me, waving their dollars in my face. The internet is absolutely flooded with other people/companies trying to sell their ceramics, and up until now, my online footprint is fairly insubstantial. In the US, it’s non-existent.
And so I’m working on two things right now:
Defrosting the cringe that iced back over after not trying hard on Instagram for the last few months. The goal being to try and grow my audience organically.
Testing Meta paid ads to find the right audience > website customers in the US. One thing is already abundantly clear - ads in the US cost a hell of a lot more than they do in Mexico.
Patience and experimentation are probably the names of the game here, so let’s see how deep my pockets are with both of those qualities.
I’ll still be continuing to sell in Mexico, so if you’re reading from there, catch ya in my dms.
Travel/other highlights
I spent beautiful week split across Puerto Escondido and Oaxaca. I ate SO WELL.

This month also marked a return to a couple of hobbies from the past. I started writing fiction again - something I return to every 5 years with alarming punctuality. I went to a writing workshop in Mexico City that unfortunately teetered a little bit too far into woo-woo women are witches and energy warriors territory, but I enjoyed having the space and permission to write again, and have been trying to keep it up.
Looking forward to:
Continuing to figure out how to tell the world I have lamps to sell. Mulling over whether to also sell on Etsy for easier/faster reach. No travel plans for June (saving it for July hehe). I’m also working on some orders in Mexico that came in at the end of May, and a lamp commission for a friend which has taken longer than planned because I’ve been struggling to find the right shade of blue glaze. Finally finishing and photographing some new ideas. I think that’s it!

I don’t know if I’d call this ‘apple green’ but whatever colour this is, I love it
Saved this reel purely so I can whip it out and send it to Jared whenever I want to because nothing has ever been so accurate in the history of the internet
